This Privacy Policy explains how Goat Bazaar (the "Platform"), operated by Aatif from Malkani Tower, Jogeshwari West, Mumbai, handles information when you visit areafair.in or contact us about a goat. We have written this policy in plain language and kept it as short as the law allows.

1. What Information We Collect

The Platform is a public catalogue. We do not require visitors to register, sign in, or submit any personal information to browse goats. The only information we collect is:

  • Information you share with us directly — when you message us on WhatsApp or send an email to enquire about or book a goat, we receive your phone number, name (as you share it), and the contents of your message.
  • Server access logs — like every website, our server automatically records basic technical details for each request, including IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. These logs are used solely to keep the site secure and running.
  • Essential cookies — we use only the cookies that Django needs for security (CSRF protection) and, for our own administrators, login sessions. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect only to:

  • respond to your enquiries and confirm bookings;
  • arrange collection of a booked goat from our shed;
  • maintain a record of bookings for accounting and tax purposes; and
  • protect the Platform from abuse, spam, and unauthorised access.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

3. WhatsApp Communications

Conversations you have with us on WhatsApp are stored and processed by WhatsApp / Meta on their own servers and are subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy. We have no control over WhatsApp's data practices. We treat the contents of those conversations as confidential and do not forward them to anyone outside the Platform.

4. Photographs of Goats

Photographs displayed on the Platform are of the goats themselves and do not contain identifiable information about buyers. We do not display, share, or publish photographs or videos of buyers or sellers without their consent.

5. Payment Information

Payments are made directly to the Seller via cash or UPI at the time of collection (with the booking token paid earlier via UPI to the number shared on WhatsApp). We do not store card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, or any other sensitive payment credentials on the Platform.

6. Data Retention

Booking and contact records are retained for as long as necessary to complete the sale, fulfil legal and tax obligations, and resolve any disputes. Server access logs are typically retained for a short period (a few weeks) for security troubleshooting and then rotated out automatically.

7. Your Rights

You may, at any time, ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct any information that is inaccurate; or
  • delete your information from our records, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain it.

8. Children

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Platform is served over HTTPS, hosted on a private server, and protected by standard administrative and technical safeguards. While we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we hold, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top reflecting any changes.
